Manuscript Template

Authors submitting to the Arab Media Renewal Journal (AMRJ) must prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the following template specifications to ensure uniformity, professional presentation, and compatibility with indexing databases.

General Formatting Rules

  • Font: Sakkal Majalla for all Arabic and English text
  • Page Size: A4 (210 × 297 mm)
  • Margins: Top: 4.3 cm; Bottom: 3.2 cm; Left/Right: 2.5 cm; Header: 3 cm; Footer: 2.2 cm
  • Layout: Enable "Different Odd & Even Pages" and "Different First Page" in page setup

Structural Components

Title Page

The paper title should be formatted in Sakkal Majalla 18pt, Bold, Centered. Author names should appear in Sakkal Majalla 16pt, Bold, preceded by academic prefixes (e.g., Dr., Prof.). Affiliations, ORCID iD, and email addresses should be in Sakkal Majalla 14pt.

Body Text

Main headings (H1) should be in Sakkal Majalla 16pt, Bold. Subheadings (H2) should be in Sakkal Majalla 14pt, Bold Italic. The main text should use Sakkal Majalla 14pt with 1.2× line spacing. Paragraphs should have a first-line indent of 0.8 cm and 6pt space above. Bullet points, where necessary, should follow the hierarchy: 1 a •.

Tables and Figures

Table titles should appear above the table in Sakkal Majalla 14pt Bold. Table content should be in Sakkal Majalla 12pt with 1pt borders. Figure titles should appear below the figure in Sakkal Majalla 14pt Bold. All tables and figures must be in editable formats: Excel for tables and EPS/PDF for figures.

References

References must follow APA 7th Edition or Chicago Author-Date 17th Edition. A minimum of 30 sources is required, with at least 50% from Scopus- or WoS-indexed journals. DOIs should be included for all references where available.

Technical Compliance for Indexing

Machine-readable metadata must include embedded DOI, ORCID, and structured abstracts via XML output from the OJS platform. Accessibility requirements include ALT text for all figures and grayscale-readable tables. Ethical tagging must include conflict of interest statements and data availability links (e.g., to Figshare or Zenodo).

Submission Checklist

Authors should verify the following before submitting: title page with bilingual abstracts (250 words maximum each); APA- or Chicago-formatted references with Zotero/EndNote file attached; editable tables and figures (not image-based); Turnitin or iThenticate report showing less than 20% similarity; and a cover letter highlighting the manuscript's relevance to AMRJ's scope and Scopus-indexed literature engagement.
