Article Processing Charges (APC)

The Arab Media Renewal Journal (AMRJ) is committed to transparency regarding the costs associated with publishing. This policy is published in accordance with the DOAJ and Scopus requirements for clear and upfront disclosure of any fees charged to authors.

Submission Fee
There is no fee for submitting a manuscript to AMRJ. The submission, peer review, and editorial processing stages are entirely free of charge.

Article Processing Charge (APC)
Upon acceptance of a manuscript for publication, a nominal Article Processing Charge (APC) of $200 USD is applicable. The actual cost of publishing each article — including peer review management, professional copyediting, typesetting, DOI registration, XML metadata generation, digital preservation, and open-access hosting — significantly exceeds this amount. Dar Al-Fikr Al-Mutajaddid for Publishing and Distribution, as the journal's publisher and primary financial sponsor, subsidizes the majority of publication costs to maintain affordability and promote equitable access to scholarly publishing.

Fee Waivers and Discounts
AMRJ is committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent the publication of high-quality scholarship. Full or partial APC waivers are available for authors from low-income and lower-middle-income countries as classified by the World Bank. These waivers are funded directly by Dar Al-Fikr Al-Mutajaddid for Publishing and Distribution. Waiver requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and do not influence editorial decisions. Authors requesting a waiver should indicate this at the time of submission in their cover letter.

No Hidden Charges
There are no additional charges for color figures, supplementary materials, or extended manuscripts. The APC as stated is the only charge levied by the journal.

Payment
Payment instructions are provided to corresponding authors upon acceptance. Payment must be completed before the article enters the production stage.
