Author Guidelines

The Arab Media Renewal Journal (AMRJ) invites original, unpublished manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of media and communication scholarship in the Arab world. Authors must adhere to the following guidelines to ensure compliance with the journal's editorial standards and international indexing requirements (Scopus, Web of Science).

Manuscript Structure

All submissions must include the following components in both English and Arabic:

Cover Page

  • Paper title (Bold, 18pt Sakkal Majalla)
  • Full name(s) of author(s) with academic title(s) (e.g., Prof., Dr.)
  • Institutional affiliation(s) with complete address
  • ORCID iD for each author (mandatory; register at https://orcid.org)
  • Corresponding author's email address and phone number
  • Declaration of conflicts of interest (if applicable)

Abstract and Keywords

  • Maximum 250 words, structured under the headings: Objectives, Methodology, Results, and Conclusions
  • 5–6 keywords aligned with Scopus/Web of Science controlled vocabularies
  • Mandatory bilingual abstracts: Arabic and English

Main Text (Sakkal Majalla 14pt, 1.2 line spacing)

  • Introduction: Clearly articulate the research problem, objectives, research questions or hypotheses, and the theoretical and practical significance of the study.
  • Literature Review: Provide a critical synthesis of prior scholarship. Citation mapping tools (e.g., VOSviewer, CiteSpace) are encouraged. Engage with seminal and recent works to position the study within the existing body of knowledge.
  • Methodology: For empirical studies, detail the research design, sampling strategy, data collection instruments (with validity and reliability metrics), and analytical methods (e.g., content analysis, survey research, PLS-SEM, thematic analysis, computational methods). For theoretical papers, justify the analytical framework and approach.
  • Results: Present findings using clearly labeled tables and figures with interpretive captions. Avoid presenting raw, unprocessed data.
  • Discussion: Situate findings within global and regional literature. Highlight implications for Arab media contexts, limitations of the study, and avenues for future research.
  • Conclusion and Recommendations: Explicitly state the study's contributions to theory, methodology, and/or practice. Where appropriate, offer policy recommendations.

References (APA 7th Edition or Chicago Author-Date, 17th Edition)
